SWEDEN. Passenger traffic at Sweden’s airports fell by -9% year-on-year in October, to 2.5 million, airports group LFV (Luftfartsverket) has reported. International passenger numbers were down by -8% to 1.4 million and domestic traffic dipped -9% to 1.1 million.
Just two airports reported year-on-year increases: Stockholm Bromma (+8%) and Åre Östersund (+5%). Of the major airports, traffic at Stockholm Arlanda fell by -10% and Gothenburg Landvetter by -12%.
Air traffic movements decreased by -9% in October compared with the same month the previous year. International movements dipped by -12% and domestic by -7%. The accumulated number of landings for the period January-October 2009 was 163 200, down by -11%.
For the period from January to October the number of passengers travelling through LFV airports was -12% less compared with the same period in 2008. International passenger numbers were down by -11% and domestic by-14%.
