Paris Charles de Gaulle becomes “forum for culture” with launch of Dominique Issermann photo exhibition

FRANCE. Paris Aéroport (formerly Aéroports de Paris) and JCDecaux Airport Paris have partnered for a new exhibition at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in support of France’s creative industries.

The exhibition features 80 shots selected by celebrated French photographer Dominique Issermann from her archives. She has worked on projects for major luxury fashion houses including Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior, and has also photographed portraits of international artists and celebrities.

The photos will be simultaneously displayed on 470 screens across eight of Paris Charles de Gaulle’s terminals, changing as passengers make their journey through the airport.

The exhibition is part of an initiative launched by Paris Aéroport to promote French cultural heritage. The company said it aimed to support the French creative industries by providing a platform for multiple art forms.

JCDecaux Airport Paris noted that the exhibition represented the first time it had been involved in an artistic project of this kind.

Paris Aéroport Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Augustin de Romanet said: “This exhibition is unique. Unique given the rarity of Dominique Issermann who, following exhibitions at Arles photography festival and the ‘Maison Européenne de la photographie’, has honoured us by choosing Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport as the third venue for her work and, in doing so, has helped establish the airport as a forum for culture.”

The exhibition starts from today and runs until 23 November.
