“Our world-beating offer is starting to open back up” – Heathrow Retail Director Fraser Brown applauds business revival

UK. Heathrow Airport Retail Director Fraser Brown has welcomed and applauded the restart of multiple retail and food & beverage businesses in recent days, as the UK’s major gateway begins to swing into recovery mode.

Like all UK airports, Heathrow has been hit hard by the COVID-19 crisis and the resultant slump in passenger traffic. However, several outlets have opened in Terminals 2 and 5 in recent days with more to follow soon.

Those to reopen this week include:

  • Caffè Nero T2 Arrivals, T5 Arrivals, T5 Departures landside
  • Excess Baggage T2 Arrivals
  • Excess Baggage T2 Departures
  • Leon T2 Airside
  • Pret T5 Airside
  • World Duty Free T2 Airside

Brown said: “Following a difficult few months, it’s been great to see some of our retailers opening their doors again. We’re grateful to colleagues at WHSmith and Boots, who continued working throughout the pandemic, providing access to essential items for passengers having to travel. This week we’re pleased to welcome back World Duty Free (T2), Leon and Caffè Nero as part of a phased re-opening.

“We’ve worked with our retail partners to implement safety measures in store, such as one-way systems, hand sanitizer and new screens at till points, so passengers feel able to shop with confidence.

“Having been a Skytrax winner of the Best Airport Shopping in the World for the last 11 years, it’s great to see our world-beating offer starting to open back up.”

Heathrow Airport has worked assiduously to make its passengers feel safe throughout the terminals and inside stores and F&B outlets
