Ottawa International Airport issues RFP for hotel contract

CANADA. Ottawa International Airport Authority is seeking proposals from developers to design, build and manage a new hotel adjacent to the passenger terminal at Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport.

Following the Request for Proposals (RFP), the Authority will review submissions and enter into exclusive discussions with the highest scoring bidder. Bids are due on 26 October.

Bidders must have been involved in the development and operation of at least one hotel under a nationally or internationally recognised brand within the past three years.

In addition, experience in one or more of the following activities within the past three years will be considered to be a significant asset:

  • Development of large-scale commercial, residential or institutional construction projects with a construction cost of at least C$20 million each;
  • Development or operation of a hotel under land-lease or license/franchise scenarios;
  • Development or operation of a hotel on the property of an international airport;
  • Hotel industry brokerage services, consulting or strategic planning.

A pre-proposal meeting (including site tour) is scheduled for 14 July.

Ottawa Airport welcomed 4.74 million passengers in calendar year 2016, an increase of +1.9% year-on-year.
