Mackintosh Feng: Strong start to the Year of the Rooster for Orient King Power

CHINA. Orient King Power has been officially awarded two key duty paid retail contracts at Shanghai Pudong Airport Terminal 2 by Shanghai International Tendering Co. Each award runs for five years.

The shops cover 26 stories in domestic departures and arrivals, embracing some 2,200sq of retail space. Bidding agent Shanghai International Tendering Co handled the tender on behalf of Shanghai Airport Group (as revealed yesterday by The Moodie Davitt Report, the Beijing Capital International Airport duty free tenders, covering T2 and T3, are also being handled by an external bidding specialist, Beijing World Trade Corporation).

The award was confirmed to The Moodie Davitt Report by Shanghai Orient King Power Travel Retail Co General Manager Mackintosh Feng, who noted that the company had enjoyed a “fantastic beginning” to the Year of the Rooster.

The stores cover a range of traditional categories including liquor & tobacco, fashion, accessories and other general merchandise, as well as perfume & cosmetics, the latter likely to be a big boon to business.

Orient King Power will take over the shops in several phases from mid-April through to mid-August.

The T2 contracts boost Orient King Power’s already formidable presence at the airport, reinforced by a major makeover of its T1 business last year (pictured below).
