Ontario International Airport opens RFP for parking services and shuttle bus operations

USA. The Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the management of its parking services and shuttle bus operations. The RFP is for a ten-year term, with two five-year options at the discretion of the airport.

Ontario International Airport saw passenger volumes increase by +9.1% year-on-year in 2019 to more than 5.5 million.

OIAA Chief Commercial Officer Dan Cappell said: “This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the incredible success story at ONT. We’re consolidating all aspects of our car parking operations under one contract, which will allow the operator to optimise costs while maximising revenues. OIAA looks forward to working with the successful bidder in continuing to enhance the customer experience at Southern California’s fastest-growing aviation gateway.”

Located about 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, Ontario International is the fastest-growing airport in the US, according to Global Traveler, a leading publication for frequent fliers. Pre-coronavirus, the airport offered non-stop commercial jet services to 26 major airports in the US, Mexico and Taiwan.

Ontario International also bills itself as one of the top airports in the country for cargo shipments, serving as the West Coast air and truck hub for UPS and a major distribution point for Amazon and Federal Express.
