Oman Air and Muscat Duty Free build inflight offer with Roja Parfums

OMAN. Oman Air and partner Muscat Duty Free have hailed the success of Roja Parfums, a line developed especially for the national airline. Roja is exclusively available to First and Business Class guests as part of the inflight retail range.

The airline said that since it was launched earlier in the year, Roja has proved “extremely popular” and is now the best-selling fragrance onboard by value. The fragrance joins a wide range of fragrances, cosmetics and accessories available through Oman Air’s inflight offer.

Oman Air Inflight Duty Free has been run by Muscat Duty Free (a 50/50 joint venture between ARI and Oman Air) since 2010.

Muscat Duty Free (MDF) General Manager Martin Mullen commented: “MDF works very closely with Oman Air’s Product and Brand Development team in selecting each individual product available in the inflight duty free offer. A great deal of care and in-depth research is undertaken to ensure that they reflect the award-winning standards that we set ourselves. We are very excited to be able to offer our First and Business Class customers this exclusive perfume, which was designed and created especially for Oman Air.”

Roja Parfums, created by UK-born perfumer Roja Dove in 2001, has become established as a highly sought after fragrance line, with Dove one of the world’s best-known fragrance noses.

Each Roja Parfums flacon is hand-finished with bottles manufactured in France and made from the purest and clearest glass, according to the brand. The gold details on the glass are screen-printed by hand in England through a process that takes three days to complete.

Each perfume cap, the symbol of Roja Parfums, is set by hand using 14 Swarovski crystals in a process that takes five days to finish. Apart from the Oman Air range, the scents are only available in selected locations, such as leading upscale department stores including Harrods.
