Nuxe highlights skincare products that combat the effects of wearing masks

The Nuxe Very Rose, Nuxe Bio Essential, and Aquabella ranges are highlighted for their ability to combat the effects of long-term mask-wearing on the skin

French cosmeceutical house Nuxe is highlighting a series of skincare products that help combat the effects of mask wearing on the skin.

These include products from the Very Rose, Nuxe Bio Essential and Aquabella ranges, as well as the Crème Fraîche Moisturising Cream. They are available in global travel retail.

Nuxe dedicated the latest episode of its long-running Nuxe Beauty Masterclass series to outline the impact of wearing masks.

The masterclass was led by Nuxe Director of Scientific Communication Ingrid Pernet who outlined how mask-wearing can cause a number of skin reactions and how Nuxe products can help alleviate these issues.

Pernet also has a PhD in skin biology. The Nuxe masterclasses are regularly released on the brand’s official Instagram account, which has over 345,000 followers.

Long-term mask-wearing can weaken the skin barrier and lead to irritation, dryness, tightness, redness and dehydration especially for those with sensitive skin, said the company. For skin with imperfections, mask-wearing can also lead to excessive sebum production which causes breakouts and acne.

Pernet said the Very Rose range is ideal for treating skin irritation, particularly for those with sensitive skin. The range offers formulations made with soothing rose water and a ‘skin respect complex’ that gently cleanses the skin.

She also recommended using the Nuxe Bio Essential Antioxidant Serum to protect sensitive skin from environmental aggressors; and the Nuxe Crème Fraîche Moisturising Cream to nourish and soften the skin.

Nuxe Global Travel Retail Director Mario Bruimaud believes the ‘heightened relevance’ of the products will help attract travelling customers

According to Pernet, the Very Rose Ultra-Fresh Cleansing Gel Mask and Nuxe Bio Micellar Cleansing Water make up a deep-cleansing routine ideal for treating skin imperfections.

The Aquabella Micro-Exfoliating Purifying Gel Daily Use, Very Rose Radiance Peeling Lotion and the Nuxe Bio Micro-Exfoliating Cleansing Mask are also recommended for gentle exfoliation and unclogging pores.

Finally, Pernet recommended using the Aquabella Beauty-Revealing Moisturising Emulsion and Nuxe Bio Correcting Moisturising Fluid help moisturise the skin while also correcting skin imperfections.

“Our skin has huge resilience and great powers of recovery when taken care of properly and NUXE products are specifically formulated to help us do this,” commented Nuxe Global Travel Retail Director Marion Bruimaud. “All Nuxe concepts are the result of our pharma-based approach to product development with scientifically proven formulations that enhance our routines for effective skincare and repair.

“Right now, with the almost universal call to wear protective face masks, there has never been a greater need to care for our skins or a greater relevance for the Nuxe products that help with this,” Bruimaud added.

“Many of the products recommended in the tips in this masterclass are available in travel retail outlets and I believe their heightened relevance makes them the kind of products that will help drive returning passengers back to travel retail.”
