HONG KONG. Nuance-Watson (HK) has been recognised for its innovation use of technology at the Hong Kong RFID Awards 2009.
The retailer was presented with three awards: a Gold Award for Most Innovative Use of EPC/RFID in the Mobile Discovery RFID display station at its Sound & Vision Enriching Life stores in Hong Kong International Airport; a Silver Award in the Most Innovative EPC/RFID Products category; and a Bronze Award in the Best EPC/RFID Implementation category.
“These awards further underline the commitment in constant innovations to offer customers the best airport shopping experience,” said Nuance-Watson (HK).
As reported, the Mobile Discovery RFID interactive display station – co-developed with PCCW Solutions – was launched at Hong Kong International Airport in July.
The interactive station allows customers to instantly view on-screen complete product details with promotional information, product trailers, recommendations on matching mobile phone accessories and even compare up to three models by simply scanning the RFID label on the selected mobile phones with the display station.
The Hong Kong RFID Awards 2009 were co-organised by the Hong Kong Research & Development Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management Enabling Technologies, the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation and the Hong Kong RFID Centre.
The event aimed to recognise pioneering enterprises that have successfully brought EPC/RFID technologies into business; encourage the adoption of EPC/RFID technologies by businesses in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region; and foster the development of new EPC/RFID products and services.
