Nice Côte d’Azur Airport seeks six retail concepts for 2020-2021 pop-up

FRANCE. Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is on the lookout for six developing brands to take over a pop-up at the airport for a 12-month term from 1 April 2020.

The initiative, which is now in its eighth year, is designed to give innovative, developing brands the chance to benefit from the high-profile exposure that will come from being present at the main gateway to the French Riviera.

The airport operator said it is looking for brands that will give travellers a surprising shopping experience with a strong Sense of Place through a differentiated offer.

60 brands have taken up the opportunity of a pop-up at the airport since 2012

Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur Commercial Business Unit Director Filip Soete said: “Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is intended to serve as a link between the [French] Riviera and the rest of the world.

“More than a showcase for young brands, it provides a laboratory in which to test their identity, territory and environment in order to recruit new customers and even ambassadors. We see this as a stepping stone since we provide comprehensive support and promotion for these brands to our passengers to support their visibility and performance.”

Since the initiative started in 2012, 60 brands have had the chance to try out and develop their offers in the fresh environment.

Sébastien Dameno, Founder of Mr. Albert, a brand that opened a pop-up store at the airport, said: “We opened at the airport about 16 months ago and today are very happy with the experience, which has taught us a lot in every way.

“Being part of the Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is a great springboard for getting your reputation off the ground and learning how to manage a large flow of customers. We have grown with the venture and our brand is now ready to be deployed in a national network.”
