Mydutyfree opens three Eastern Europe border store pick-up points

EUROPE. Mydutyfree, which offers a global duty free online marketplace, has added three pick-up points to its network.

The openings are all in border stores in Eastern Europe. They are in Kotlovka and Kamenny Log, both on the Belarus border with Lithuania, and Kazbegi, on the Georgian border with Russia.

Mydutyfree is an online marketplace that pools together the duty free offer from various retailers

It is the company’s first pick-up point in Georgia. Mydutyfree now has a presence in 11 airports and seven border stores.

As reported, Mydutyfree pools together the duty free offer from various retailers at different airports in one convenient place.

Customers virtually surf duty free shops, pre-order items and then collect them at the Mydutyfree pick-up points. Additionally, a ‘shared basket’ tool allows people who are not travelling to order goods from those who are.

Chief Project Officer Alex Gusarov said the proposition was “the Amazon of the duty free channel”. He said: “On Amazon you can find goods from anywhere in the world. We have built a global duty free marketplace for operators and shoppers, giving retailers the opportunity to get online.”
