UK. Origins, part of the Esteé Lauder Companies, is launching a new skincare duo that uses the power of mushrooms to help fight ageing.

The Dr Andrew Weil for Origins Collection was created in conjunction with integrative medicine expert, Dr Andrew Weil, whose research into mushrooms, herbs and spices has helped him identify ingredients that will keep skin younger-looking for longer.

“Dr Andrew Weil completely embodies and practices the core principles of the Origins brand – celebrating the power of plants as they relate to wellness inside and out,” said Origins President Daria Myers. “We at Origins are thrilled to celebrate our 10th birthday as a brand dedicated to wellness by joining forces with someone as forward-thinking and provocative as Dr Weil. We share a commitment to the importance of living a balanced lifestyle and achieving wellness through natural means.”

Clinical trials have shown that 64% of testers saw an increase in the clarity of their skin immediately after applying the products and that they harbour a significant ability to sooth the skin, decrease redness, increase moisture levels and firmness. With patents pending on each product, Origins may be onto a winner.

The collection includes:

Mega-Mushroom Face Serum: RRP £40 for 30ml – a soothing, lightweight serum with a mushroom blend of hypsizygus ulmarius, cordyceps and reishi with ginger, turmeric, holy basil, resveratrol and argan nut oil.

Mega-Mushroom Face Cream: £45 for 50ml – with hypsizygus ulmarius and chaga mushrooms, anti-aging narcissus lily bulb plus skin-firming menyanthus and heather extract as well as a host of vitamins, herbs and spices,

Dr Andrew Weil for Origins Starter Set: £55 for 2 x 30ml travel-sized products will also be available.

The set will make its travel retail debut in Copenhagen in March 2006 and will roll out internationally in April.
