OMAN. Muscat Duty Free’s consumer website ( has won the silver award for the E-commerce category at the Oman Web awards 2008.

The retailer headed many major companies in Oman in gaining the accolade. Muscat Duty Free General Manager Tom Byrne said: “It indeed is a coveted award to win and to have won it against stiff competition makes it even much better. With this award, Muscat Duty Free has automatically entered the Pan Web Awards, that will be held in Dubai in April 2009.”

Muscat Duty Free is operated under a 50:50 joint venture formed between Aer Rianta International-Middle East and Oman Aviation Services. It manages and operates all duty free shops within the Departures and Arrivals areas at Seeb International Airport.

Muscat Duty Free scooped an award for Best Middle East Travel Retail Website at The Moodie Report Travel Retail Web Awards 2006.
