INDIA. Mumbai Duty Free has been named as one of ‘Asia’s 100 Greatest Brands’ in 2017.
The retailer was recognised as part of the second annual edition of the Asia’s Greatest Brands and Leaders Awards presented by AsiaOne Magazine & URS Media. The event took place on 29 January at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
The 100 brands are chosen on the basis of research across 16 industries, 1,200 brands and 62 sub-categories from multiple sectors, with the process being reviewed by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Mumbai Duty Free CEO Manishi Sanwal represented the company at the summit. Commenting on the win, Sanwal said: “We are proud to be the recipient of this prestigious industry award and happy to be recognised on a global platform. We constantly aim to provide best value to our customers, who make us their preferred retailer.”
The popularity of the retailer’s ‘Mumbai Duty Free is now free’ marketing campaign last year was one of the factors behind its recognition.
