Mumbai Duty Free launches second edition of major summer shopping festival

INDIA. Mumbai Duty Free has launched an expanded edition of its flagship shopping festival campaign for summer 2019.

The ‘Mumbai Duty Free Is Now Free’ shopping festival takes place in May and June at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International and offers deals and discounts on duty free products across multiple categories.

The festival is running for 75 days across all Mumbai Duty Free stores.

The Flemingo-run retailer said international customers can pre-plan their purchases and enjoy additional shopping benefits this year via an exclusive tie-up with Goibibo and MakeMyTrip, who will send out emails to Mumbai-based customers offering Mumbai Duty Free discount vouchers worth US$8.

The festival also offers cash-backs and shopping money through gift cards. The promotions and deals are applicable across departures and arrivals, and across categories. All international passengers flying via Mumbai receive an unconditional US$5 shopping gift card for their purchases at Mumbai Duty Free. Selected customers will also receive a US$72 shopping gift card on fashion & luxury purchases.

Mumbai Duty Free is again offering a cash-back offer from Citibank. Customers at Mumbai Duty Free departures and arrivals stores will get 15% cash back when using Citibank cards. The maximum cashback amount is INR1,500 per transaction. Travellers shopping at the company’s fashion and luxury stores can benefit from a 15% cashback from Citibank without any limit on the cashback.

Targeting international travellers, the retailer has also partnered with UnionPay International to offer an exclusive 10% discount on all fashion & luxury purchases made using UnionPay cards.

Travellers spending above a certain spend threshold receive a ‘Mumbai Duty Free Is Now Free’ envelope containing discount vouchers and complementary shopping experiences from downtown and online partner brands.
