Mumbai Airport celebrates inaugural shopping festival

INDIA. Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport has successfully completed its inaugural month-long Mumbai Airport Shopping Festival.

The festival, which commenced on 10 September, took place across all terminals. It involved key partners including Mastercard, LIC, Kuwait Airways, Garuda Indonesia, Xiaomi, Godrej Interio and Too Yumm.

Mastercard was the main sponsor of the Mumbai Airport Shopping Festival.

Passengers were treated to exclusive shopping deals from a host of different retailers and food & beverage operators. They were also given the chance to win a range of weekly prizes.

A draw ticket from the shopping festival, which featured discounts of up to -50% in participating stores.

Those prizes included an all expenses paid trip for a couple to Singapore, with entry gained through using Mastercard for payment. Other air tickets were also offered, featuring trips to Bali, London, Istanbul, Cairo and Dubai.

In addition, vouchers for mobile handsets by Xiaomi and Godrej Interio were handed to passengers and spot prizes were offered for passengers spending a minimum of Rs. 5,000 ($US67) using Mastercard or buying UEFA merchandise.

The shopping festival, at what is India’s second-busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic, was supported by special events, activities and entertainment including a brass band flash mob and karaoke.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is India’s second-largest airport by passenger traffic. All of its terminals featured in the shopping promotion.
