More speakers join in-person APTRA Exchange event in Hong Kong

ASIA PACIFIC. The Moodie Davitt Report Chairman Martin Moodie, in his Honorary Role as Overseas Communications Officer for the Hainan International Media Center, and Anson Bailey, Head of Consumer & Retail, KPMG Hong Kong, have joined the speaker line-up for The APTRA Exchange on 3 September.

The event is run by the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA), which has announced the return of its knowledge-sharing and networking event,  It will be the first time the APTRA Exchange has been staged in a live in-person format since October 2019 at the Trinity Forum in Doha, a hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The meeting – themed ‘Developing Strategies for Travel Retail Recovery’ – will take place in Duddells Restaurant & Bar, Shanghai Tang Mansion in Hong Kong on Friday 3 September from 5.30-8.30pm HKT.

Entrance is limited to 70 people and places will be issued on a first come, first served basis.

The guest speaker line-up includes:

  • Stefano Baronci, Director General ACI Asia-Pacific, offering an airport association perspective
  • Mark Angela, CEO Asia-Pacific SSP, providing a sector perspective for food & beverage
  • Lois Chan, Assistant General Manager Retail Portfolio, Hong Kong International Airport, will share insights on preparing for business recovery
  • Stephane Zermatten, Managing Partner, CircleSquare on “The Consumer Journey in the Omnichannel Era”
  • Martin Moodie, Founder & Chairman of The Moodie Davitt Report & Honorary Overseas Communications Officer, Hainan International Media Center will talk about the fast-changing Hainan offshore duty free market
  • Anson Bailey, Head of Consumer & Retail, KPMG Hong Kong, will share a broader perspective of consumer trends in the region.

APTRA President Sunil Tuli said: “With a sizeable travel retail community based in Hong Kong and with meeting restrictions eased, we wanted to seize the opportunity to bring colleagues together and reconnect in person, while sharing valuable industry updates as we all adapt our businesses in the wake of the pandemic.”

He added: “In addition to APTRA members we warmly welcome anyone from the travel retail and wider aviation and travel industry to join us for the evening.”

Running since 2015, the APTRA Exchange has been staged in various locations across Asia Pacific, bringing together industry leaders to discuss topics of interest.

Entrance is open to APTRA members and the extended travel retail community at US$100 per head to support the cost of an open bar and canapés at the event.

In order to comply with the current regulations in Hong Kong for in-person events, all guests will need to demonstrate they have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination.
