Claiming the latest headlines is the news that Hainan offshore duty free sales reached US$380.7 million over the seven-day Spring Festival holiday period.

Strong business at cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex (pictured on opening day, 28 October 2022) helped spur offshore duty free sales to new heights

The figures represent a +20.69% rise compared with the equivalent holiday days in 2022 and are +329% higher than in pre-pandemic 2019.

New Hainan reports on a stellar Lunar New Year holiday period for the island’s offshore duty free sector

According to the Hainan Provincial Department of Commerce, offshore duty free sales in Hainan were particularly strong over the Spring Festival period.
