Montblanc has released a new series of Meisterstück writing instruments, inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) novella.
Montblanc said its latest series of fountain, roller ball and ballpoint pens pays tribute to the power of gifting, imagination and the importance of transmitting ideas and dreams to others.
“The Meisterstück Le Petit Prince edition brings together the heritage of a timeless gifting favourite and the cultural influence of a literary great,” Montblanc stated.
“Filled with meaning and symbolism, the new special edition reaffirms Montblanc’s belief that writing is a gift, one that is passed from one generation to the other with a positive message, just like the ideas, dreams and thoughts that Le Petit Prince shares with the world around him.”
The Little Prince is one of the world’s most translated books, with editions in more than 250 languages and dialects. The story relates the encounter between a pilot and a little prince, and touches on imagination, open-mindedness and the value of human relationships.
Design elements on the Meisterstück Le Petit Prince are based on Saint-Exupéry’s hand-drawn illustrations.
The cap and barrel of the Meisterstück Le Petit Prince Special Edition are in blue resin to echo the colour of the universe around the prince. The milled cap features a fox face pattern, a reference to the character that instructs the young boy about the bonds of human relationships. Platinum-coated fittings and a gold star are also included.
The rhodium-plated nib features an engraving of the boy and the fox and a sentence from the novel is laser-engraved into the crown.
Meisterstück Le Petit Prince Doué Classique Edition has an 18 carat bi-colour nib with an outline of the Little Prince and the fox. The fox pattern continues on the Meisterstück Le Petit Prince Solitaire cap and barrel and the Montblanc emblem is encircled by words from the novella.
Montblanc has created dark orange-coloured ink and refills inspired by the fox character, and a leather notebook, bound in Saffiano leather, which features a fox print. Other accessories include a pair of round stainless steel cufflinks, a money clip and a men’s woven leather bracelet.
