Moncler offers an exclusive preview of its new Moncler Lunettes

French-Italian apparel manufacturer and lifestyle brand Moncler is presenting an exclusive preview of six Moncler Lunettes-branded sunglasses, the first expression of a worldwide licensing agreement with Italian eyewear specialist Marcolin Group.

Tradition, contemporary design and technology are said to characterise the eyewear collection which was inspired by the Moncler down jacket.

The jacket has remained a fashion icon since its inception in 1952.

Marcolin Grooup CEO Giovanni Zoppas said: “Marcolin is a worldwide leading company in the eyewear industry and Moncler is synonymous with duvet par excellence. Two successful histories that in common have high attention to detail as well as to the brand’s uniqueness and quality codes and values.

“With Moncler, Marcolin has strengthened its positioning in the luxury segment.”

Moncler CEO & Chairman Remo Ruffini commented: “The strong cultural affinity between Moncler and Marcolin, two businesses which today represent Italian excellence, has made it possible to accept this new challenge with true determination.

“In doing so we have worked on a Moncler Lunettes collection in perfect keeping with the respective brand values. Research, tradition and attention to detail combined with outstanding Italian manufacturing guarantee eyewear products of the very highest quality.”

The Moncler Lunettes collection is claimed to combine quality, innovation and experimentation with aesthetic functionality and technological research while maintaining the brand’s iconic design elements.

Designs are inspired by classic seventies ski goggle shapes and feature embossed metal logos and details on the temples, echoing the ‘boudin’ manufacturing effect distinctive of the Moncler down jacket.

Men’s and unisex frames highlight retro styling with removable leather side shields. They are available in contrasting black and red, brown and yellow, deep blue and light blue, and black tone-on-tone colour combinations, with polarised or mirrored lenses.

The collection includes round frames for women and squared unisex silhouettes. The soft , exaggerated shape of two acetate styles is said to recall the light and voluminous shape created by the down jacket, the “soul of the brand”.
