UAE. The Middle East Exclusive exhibition is moving from its traditional date just after or before the annual MEDFA conference to a new March 2009 timing.
Organiser Channels Exhibitions told The Moodie Report that the event will be held on March 10-12 2009 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The change continues a shake-up of the traditional Middle East trio of travel retail-related events – the Middle East Duty Free Association (MEDFA) conference, the Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup and Middle East Exclusive.
For the first time the MEDFA conference is moving away from Dubai this year. It will be held in Abu Dhabi on 25-26 November, preceded by the popular Dubai Duty Free golf tournament on 23-24 November in neighbouring Dubai.

MEDFA’s decision to move its conference out of Dubai was one influence on Channels’ decision, but the company is also known to have felt the event warranted its own clearer identity and a less cluttered slot in the industry calendar than just a few weeks after TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.
The decision is likely to be welcomed by most exhibitors and visitors for exactly those reasons.
