Meet The Moodie Davitt Report team in Cannes

FRANCE. The Moodie Davitt Report is bringing its largest-ever team to the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, reflecting both the event’s status as the travel retail’s premier trade show and our commitment to providing the industry’s best coverage.

Our editorial and commercial team will be out in force, all of course wearing a dash of pink to reflect our #thinkpinkTR campaign in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October and The Estée Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Campaign.

#thinkpinkTR

Here are snapshot biographies of the team.

Martin Moodie
Founder & Chairman

Contact: martin@moodiedavittreport.com

Martin founded the company in 2002 out of his garden shed (famously known as the Worldwide Headquarters), building it into one of the world’s leading B2B publishers since. While denying that he is a workaholic, he simultaneously bemoans the fact that there are only 24 hours in a day and works constantly to defy that constraint.

While he will be wearing pink much of the week in support of #thinkpinkTR , expect also to see plenty of black. His beloved All Blacks are bidding to retain the Rugby World Cup in Japan, which would represent an unprecedented third consecutive triumph. So he gets two hashtags: #AllBlacks3peat #thinkpinkTR

Dermot Davitt
President & Editorial Director

Contact: dermot@moodiedavittreport.com

Co-owner of The Moodie Davitt Report since 2015, Dermot is one of travel retail’s most-respected and popular journalists.

Like Martin, he has a strong interest in the Rugby World Cup and with Ireland playing on Saturday  and Thursday, you may just find him down at Ma Nolan’s at game time.

You will also see him putting in long hours at the trade show, talking to people about the industry that he loves and giving back every bit as much in knowledge as he gleans.

Irene Revilla
Publisher

Contact: irene@moodiedavittreport.com

It’s hard to believe that Irene only joined the company in August 2018, such has been her creative and commercial impact.

Irene, a proud and passionate Spaniard, is charged with driving commercial revenues across multiple platforms and for developing new projects. She worked for WPP – the world leader in communications services – from 1999 to 2012 and from 2013 to this year as Global Head of Client Services (London) for WPP-owned Aviator/Kinetic. From April 2012 to August 2013, she was SVP Strategic Development (Shanghai) at Dentsu Aegis Network.

All that experience and knowledge has served The Moodie Davitt Report to brilliant effect and encouraged us to constantly think differently and challenge established norms. #thinkpinkTR

Sarah Genest
Vice President Sales & Events and FAB Publisher

Contact: sarah@moodiedavittreport.com

Sarah needs no introduction to her many friends in the business, but she certainly deserves one. The long-time driving force behind the Frontier Awards, Sarah joined the team as Advertisement & Events Development Director in 2007, and in mid-2013 was promoted to Vice President Sales & Events.

This September she took on a key additional role as Publisher of FAB – The Moodie Davitt Report’s acclaimed airport food & beverage conference, awards and eZine. Look out for Sarah buzzing around the show with appointments booked every half hour but always ready to make time for anyone. A client relationship manager of the highest order. #thinkpinkTR

Christina Attwood
Business Development Director

Contact: christina@moodiedavittreport.com

With Asia being the new epicentre of travel retail, it is vital that The Moodie Davitt Report has strong commercial representation in the region. That presence came with the appointment of Christina Attwood, based in Hong Kong, last May.

Christina, a well-known and much-respected figure in the Asian travel retail world, is a highly experienced media specialist and publisher with over 15 years of account management experience in the luxury goods industry. Her career has spanned both travel retail and domestic markets in both Europe and Asia and she has invaluable sales and marketing experience in both the B2B and B2C spheres. A brilliant asset to the team, she brings a partnership-based mentality to all her sales efforts. #thinkpinkTR

Gemma Aldridge
International Account Manager

Contact: gemma@moodiedavittreport.com

Our newest recruit, Gemma joined The Moodie Davitt Report in September after more than six years in the travel retail industry. She most recently worked at award-winning UK drinks company Chase Distillery, where she was Brand Development Manager – Premium Retailers. Before that Gemma worked for leading cruise retail concessionaire Harding Retail, latterly as Buyer – Duty Free Liquor, Tobacco and Confectionery.

On the Sunday morning of Cannes, she will be found in Ma Nolan’s cheering on her beloved Wales in their too-close-to-call match against Australia. Well, we say too-close-to-call; Gemma says it’s Wales easily. #thinkpinkTR

Jason Holland
Senior Editor

Contact: jason@moodiedavittreport.com

Jason is the Editor of The Moodie Davitt eZine, Travel Retail’s Lookbook, and FAB (formerly The Foodie Report), the world’s only B2B title dedicated to airport food & beverage.

Despite his Englishness, he is much more likely to be checking how many places he has slipped in The Moodie Davitt Fantasy Premier League Competition than watching his nation’s seriously promising progress in the Rugby World Cup. A top-class business writer who has done a superb job in shaping our acclaimed eZine, Jason will celebrate five years with the company next  year and already his sharp 2020 vision is taking shape.#thinkpinkTR

Liam Coleman
Senior Editor

Contact: liam@moodiedavittreport.com

Liam joined The Moodie Davitt Report in June of this year after two years as Digital & Asia Editor at our most-respected competitor, fellow travel retail title DFNI.

A ball of human energy, Liam is the editor of Sight Lines, our new title dedicated to airport advertising and communications, while also heading our spirits & wines coverage. Thanks to his dual heritage (Irish grandfather), he will be keeping a keen eye on the latest results from both England and Ireland’s respective groups at the Rugby World Cup throughout Cannes week. Two teams? Now, that’s simply not fair Liam.  #thinkpinkTR

Kevin Rozario
Editor-at-Large

Contact: kevin@moodiedavittreport.com

Kevin Rozario, a highly experienced travel retail, aviation, drinks, beauty and luxury sector journalist, joined us in April 2017 and is our roving Editor-at-Large. He is charged with providing high-level analysis and features with his inimitable flair and insight. Not for Kevin the all-too-common diet of spoon-fed press releases; he goes looking for stories and angle of real interest to our readers.

Kevin loves the fashion, beauty, luxury and retail beat and you can be sure if you are being interviewed by him, you are in good and knowledgeable hands. A top-class mind, journalist and individual. #thinkpinkTR

Colleen Morgan
Associate Editor

Contact: colleen@moodiedavittreport.com

Our second Kiwi on the team (she hails from Christchurch, the same city as Martin Moodie and went to the same school, though unlike him was not in constant trouble), Colleen is based on the beautiful Greek island of Rhodes. She has become an integral member of our team in recent years, her warm people skills and speciality in human interest stories making her a popular and respected member of the team all around the world.

Colleen drives our hugely popular Ten Easy Pieces column, in  which we get up close and personal with leading travel retail personalities via ten snapshot questions. She is also a published book author, her acclaimed ‘Throw me a Smile’ (published by Martin Moodie) detailing her daughter Lucy’s brave and ultimately triumphant battle against a rare childhood cancer. #thinkpinkTR

Hannah Tan-Gillies
Fashion Beauty and Social Media Editor

Contact: hannah@moodiedavittreport.com

Hannah joined The Moodie Davitt Report team in July as our Fashion, Beauty, and Social Media Editor. She previously worked for several consumer titles including Vogue, House of Coco, and TWENTY6Magazine.

Hannah is a human dynamo, her social media skills complementing a natural flair in business writing based on journalistic acumen and real interest in the subject matter.

She is an avid film geek, an adoring human parent to her beloved black mini-labradoodle Charlie and a true internationalist. Hannah grew up in Metro Manila in the Philippines and always knew she was going to pursue a career in fashion & beauty. She graduated top of her class in ESMOD Paris, one of France’s most prestigious fashion schools, setting her on her way. Her mother was a ballerina, prompting Hannah to spend much of her younger life free-time dancing (whether that be cheerleading, ballet, jazz, or hiphop). So now you know where she got these avatar moves below. #thinkpinkTR
