MEADFA to offer membership to brand owners and distributors

Haitham Al Majali: “Joining forces with affiliate members will create a collective strength”

MIDDLE EAST/AFRICA. The Middle East & Africa Duty Free Association (MEADFA) is to open its membership to brands and distributors through a new “affiliated membership” category.

The association said the wider scope would “enable it to better represent the interest of the duty free and travel retail industry” in the region.

A majority of MEADFA members validated the initiative submitted to an Extraordinary General Meeting in Dubai on 27 March.

MEADFA noted: “Affiliated membership is now open for brand owners, suppliers including related associations, and distributors operating in the Middle East and Africa region.”

MEADFA President Haitham Al Majali said: “Joining forces with affiliate members will create a collective strength and build an even greater relationship that will facilitate communication and exchange of information. Working closely towards a shared vision is a certain move that will surely drive common interests forward and help shape the future of the industry in the region.”
