Maui Jim has added three new styles to its Blue Hawaii sunglasses collection and will present them at next month’s TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition (stand K9).
The Blue Hawaii collection, which launched last year, features sunglasses with a blue mirror coating that is applied to a grey base lens. The new lens treatment, combined with Maui Jim’s proprietary PolarizedPlus2 lens technology, is said to have all the colour enhancing benefits with a fresh look.
Red Sands, is a ‘refined’ rectangular frame from the PureAir Collection which has MauiPure lenses; Peahi is a wrap style with SuperThin (ST) glass lenses; and Ho’okipa, one of Maui Jim’s sport styles, features rimless polycarbonate bi-gradient lenses.
The original Blue Hawaii collection features Baby Beach, Cliff House, Mavericks and Wiki Wiki aviator styles with MauiPure lenses, plus the high-fashion Leia and Sweet Leilani nylon frames with ST glass lenses.
MauiPure lenses are said to combine crisp optics, minimal weight and ‘excellent’ scratch and shatter resistance. ST glass lenses are claimed to offer the best optics available at a fraction of the weight of normal glass lenses.
