Mandy Shine: Thrilled to be in Dubai, a ‘nerve centre’ of travel retail |
UAE. The Moodie Report has opened a Middle East operation, based in Dubai, as part of its continuing international expansion.
The Middle East team is headed by The Moodie Report Commercial Director Mandy Shine, who has relocated to Dubai.
The Moodie Report Publisher Martin Moodie said: “The Middle East is fundamental to the industry’s future and therefore, by definition, to ours. Mandy’s 22 years of publishing experience and extensive industry network means she is well positioned to serve the business well in this key region.”
Mandy Shine said: “I’m thrilled to be operating out of Dubai, a real nerve centre of our sector. We have always had tremendous support from the retailers, distributors and brands in the Middle East and being “˜on location’ will ensure we can raise our level of support to the channel.”

The Moodie Report now has operations in Auckland (New Zealand), Dubai, Galway (Ireland), London, and Singapore. The company was created in mid-2002, originally operating out of Publisher Martin Moodie’s London “˜Worldwide Headquarters’ (famously dubbed “˜The Shed’ by former Abu Dhabi Duty Free Managing Director Mohamed Mounib, and which is still an integral part of the operation – see The Moodie Blog: ‘Lock-out at Maison Moodie Report’).
Today the company has a full-time and freelance team of 18, which is about to be boosted in London and Singapore amid plans for two major new projects from mid-2008.
