Manchester Airport reopens four Escape Lounges following brand refresh

UK. Manchester Airport has reopened its four Escape Lounges following a brand refresh which includes new colour schemes, menu designs and locally-inspired artwork.

New food & beverage options are all-inclusive and will be handled for the first time by in-house Manchester Airport Group (MAG) staff.

New all-inclusive food and beverage options are offered in the revamped Escape lounges

Prices start from £25 (US$33) per person. Items which previously were paid upgrade options, including hot breakfasts, premium beers and spirits, hot meat and vegetarian main dishes, are available for the single-entry price. The price includes Veuve Valmante sparkling wine and Manchester Pale Ale, supported by a local partnership with independent Manchester brewery JW Lees.

MAG said buffet dishes in the lounges are prepared daily on-site. The breakfast selection includes pastries, cereals, fresh fruit and hot items while the brunch or lunch menu offers pastries, spiced chicken and curries, mac ‘n’ cheese, cottage pie, soup-of-the-day, and salads. A selection of cakes and biscuits are available.

The lounges feature new ‘Instagram walls’ where guests can tag the lounge using @escapelounges or #escapelounge to have their own Instagram photos displayed for a limited period of time.

Manchester Airports Group Executive Vice President Lounges Beth Brewster said: “Since opening our first Escape Lounge in 2000 their popularity has risen with our passengers. We have taken this opportunity to give our Manchester lounges a revamp that should make them an even more enjoyable space for passengers to use before they jet away.”

Staff who were employed in the Escape Lounge food & beverage operation for Delaware North Company have been given the opportunity to transfer across to become MAG employees, MAG stated.
