Making water tasty: Vienna’s waterdrop brings something new to the airport marketplace

AUSTRIA. Viennese company waterdrop has commenced trading today in Vienna Airport Terminal 2’s Shopping Plaza, its store bringing something new to the travel hub’s commercial scene. The company produces small sugar-free drops made from real fruit and plant extracts enriched with vitamins – they are available in various flavours which fit into every water bottle opening.

Waterdrop’s colourful new shop offers passengers a broad range of plastic-free drinking receptacles and natural drops, which can alternatively be dissolved in a glass. The water bottles can be filled directly in the store and different natural flavours can be sampled.

The first airport location for trailblazing waterdrop is in the brand’s home city of Vienna

The edible waterdrop products are packaged in an environmentally-friendly way.

Vienna Airport Joint CEO and COO Julian Jäger said: “With waterdrop the airport has gained a prominent new addition. The young brand has managed to take the leap from a start-up to a successful global company.

“Passengers have the possibility to take a quality product from Austria with them on their journeys from the new airport store. We are very pleased that this creative Austrian brand is represented here.”

The compact waterdrop cubes and empty drinking bottles are approved to be taken through every security checkpoint at Vienna Airport.

Waterdrop was established in 2017 and is represented in numerous international locations including Germany, France, the UK, USA and Singapore. The company was founded by three Austrian nationals – Martin Murray, Henry Murray and Christoph Hermann.
