‘Make-up Is My Power’: Lancôme generates beauty buzz at Shinsegae’s downtown Seoul store

Lancôme Travel Retail Asia Pacific recently staged a takeover of prominent retail space within Shinsegae Duty Free’s downtown Myeong-Dong, Seoul store.

The French beauty brand launched its latest collection – Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation –highlighting “ultimate feminine beauty and strength through the power of make-up”.

Powerful launch: Korean actress and Lancôme local ambassador for South Korea Suzy Baean’s appearance generated significant interest.

A multi-sensorial concept space was created within the store for consumers to experience the products on 19 July. Shinsegae Duty Free’s mirror carousel and its surrounding features were branded for the event, while a 360-degree panoramic LED screen showcased the new range.

The ‘Make-up Is My Power’ event also featured a series of activations, including an appearance by Korean actress and Lancôme local ambassador for South Korea Suzy Baean.

Lancôme also gathered together national make-up artists from around the globe, from countries such as the USA, Mexico, the UK, Japan and Korea. The make-up artists shared their expertise with 20 Chinese KOLs [Key Opinion Leaders] and customers at the store at six dedicated make-up stations. Makeovers were also offered.

Beauty buzz: The KOLs shared their experiences and reviews on social media channels such as Weibo.

The event also featured a private gala dinner attended by brand partners, retailers and the KOLs.

The Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation collection has launched at Lancôme duty free stores across Asia Pacific.

Lancôme Travel Retail Asia Pacific General Manager Tao Zhang said Suzy Baean’s appearance was a particular highlight. “Recognised globally as a new generation beauty icon, Suzy perfectly personifies the attitude of the ‘Make Up Is My Power’ campaign and empowers women all around the world to embrace their femininity and beauty with Lancôme,” she noted.

“With her testimony and the presence of our national make-up artists from around the globe to share their expertise on the latest foundation, we are confident that this will drum up excitement in the local beauty scene and boost our upcoming launch for travellers across the region.”
