‘Magic begins here’: Commercial mix at Florianópolis International Airport revealed

BRAZIL. Florianópolis Hercílio Luz International Airport has announced the commercial mix at its new terminal and boulevard, which is due to open on 1 October.

Dufry will operate the duty free concession in the new area as well as a smaller retail unit, while subsidiary Hudson will open a convenience store offering books, newspapers, stationery and other items.

Zürich Airport owns 100% of Florianópolis Hercílio Luz International Airport and will operate it under a concession until 2047

Florianópolis International is owned and operated by Zürich Airport. Its aim was to create a balance between local, national and international brands, with 34 concessions opening.

The food & beverage offer is particularly diverse, with Japanese, Arabic, traditional barbecue and local restaurants all featuring.

“An airport is not just a place of passage, but a place to be, where people stroll, have fun, have unforgettable experiences and engage in the magic of aviation,” said airport CEO Tobias Markert. “We wanted to bring this airport model to Brazil. Our slogan translates the idea very well: Magic begins here.”

Commercial contracts recognise the need to match domestic prices, Zürich Airport, and all commercial establishments are required to have affordable options.

With an investment of Br570 million (US$145 million), the new terminal will be four times larger than the current one. Boulevard 14/32 is a large square in front of the new structure. Approximately 90% of the total commercial space is currently filled.
