MAG to stage virtual event promoting partner opportunities at three UK airports

UK. Manchester Airports Group (MAG) is inviting local small and medium sized businesses to learn more about how they could become a partner to the three UK airports under its jurisdiction.

The ‘Runway to Recovery’ meet the buyer event will take place next week on Wednesday 8 December. The virtual event is free to join for all and will feature presentations from the Managing Directors of all three MAG airports – Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands.

The leaders will provide an overview of their respective businesses, alongside information from MAG’s procurement team about the process of becoming a supplier. Current available supplier opportunities will be highlighted.

Manchester Airports Group is seeking to give more supplier opportunities to businesses in the locality of its three UK airports

MAG noted that it works with hundreds of partners and suppliers at each of its airports, with a combined spend of more than £780 million (US$1.032 billion) annually. It said suppliers are critical to the effective running of its airports’ operations, which collectively welcomed over 60 million passengers in 2019.

Other content at the event is aimed at helping businesses to learn about how to become a leader during changing times through the use of innovation and technology. The virtual meeting will also provide opportunities to network with like-minded businesses.

MAG has successfully hosted a meet the buyer event at London Stansted Airport for a number of years, and has decided to roll the scheme out across its other airports to promote the creation of local supply chains which support local businesses.

MAG CSR and Airspace Change Director Neil Robinson said: “Our ‘Runway to Recovery’ meet the buyer event will provide SMEs from the areas local to all three of our airports with the opportunity to get a unique insight into how they could do business with us.

“By hearing from our airport Managing Directors and our procurement teams, businesses can see how their product or service could contribute to our supply chains which help our airports run seven days a week, 365 days a year.”
