Macquarie could be set for a divestment of its indirect ownership interest in Copenhagen Airports

DENMARK. Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (Europe) has begun a strategic review which could result in a divestment of its indirect ownership interest in Copenhagen Airports.

Macquarie, on behalf of Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund III, has appointed advisors to assist in the review, which it stressed would not inevitably lead to a divestment.

The company initially acquired a stake in Copenhagen Airports in 2005. Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund III invested in Copenhagen Airports in 2008 and is now approaching fund life maturity. It currently holds an indirect ownership interest in Kastrup Airports Parent ApS, which controls a 57.7% shareholding in Copenhagen Airports.

Macquarie said that, with its advisors, it would be engaging with infrastructure investors and existing shareholders over the coming months, “with any divestment process likely to be agreed during 2017”.
