Luxenter set for a polished travel retail debut – 11/01/10

Luxenter introduced its jewellery brand for the first time at the 2009 TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes

SPAIN. Madrid-based jewellery brand Luxenter is entering the travel retail channel following an expansion push into international markets.

The company is present in its home market of Spain, including points of sale at leading department store El Corte Inglés, and a boutique in Madrid, carrying jewellery for women, men and children.

Luxenter Export Manager Alfonso Escribano Fernandez told The Moodie Report that Europe was the main market for the brand. “Germany is a big market, and we are also present in Holland, Switzerland and Belgium. We’ve just started in France.”

Further afield, a Luxenter shop is planned for Panama in November 2009, and shop-in-shops are scheduled to begin trading in department stores in China.

First showing at TFWA in Cannes

Luxenter presented its new Kumi collection for Autumn/Winter 09/10 at the 2009 TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, where the brand exhibited for the first time as part of its push to enter the travel retail channel.

The company has selected special packages for both duty free shops and inflight sales from its range of five lines, including charms.

The jewellery collection spans stones, such as onyx and white agate, with an average retail price of €100; pearls, averaging €50; charms, priced at €29, semi-precious stones (amethyst, citrine, etc) at €120; a classic white line (€60); and a colour line (€70), specially for travel retailers at airports.

Luxenter has already achieved a listing at Madrid Barajas Airport with a unit, while further expansion is expected following discussions at Cannes with inflight operators and duty free retailers, said Escribano Fernandez.
