SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free is to host a ‘LDF LIVE’ event tomorrow evening (28 April) featuring Jo Malone London products and popular Korean broadcaster, singer and actress Lee Ji-hye.
The programme is timed to coincide with rising demand by Koreans for overseas travel following the easing of the country’s long-standing COVID-related restrictions.
As reported, Lotte Duty Free, South Korea’s number one travel retailer and world number two, has unleashed a wide array of promotions and incentives to boost travel-related shopping.
This collaboration featuring the popular star and The Estée Lauder Companies-owned brand is the first live broadcast to be featured in Lotte Duty Free’s wide-ranging ‘Travel is coming’ promotion launched last week. It leads off a series of live commerce shows designed to encourage Korean spending in the wake of outbound travel restarting.
The broadcast ‘Jo Malone London suggested by Lee Ji-hye’, popularly known as 관종 언니 (‘Kwan-Jong’ or ‘attention-seeking sister’) will run from 8pm to 9pm tomorrow night. Lee Ji-hye will be the main MC, supported by two LDF LIVE show hosts.
Ms Lee runs a popular YouTube programme with he husband Moon Jae-wan.

During the show, consumers can discover more about the fast-growing niche fragrance and lifestyle brand Jo Malone London. The brand will showcase some of its most popular lines, including its English Pear and Freesia fragrance; diffusers; and body and hand washes.
A prize draw for ten tickets on so-called ‘flights to nowhere’ (flights that leave Korean airspace but do not land abroad before returning) will be held. Customers who spend US$100 or more will receive a complimentary Jo Malone London Cologne while those who spend US$150 or more will receive a Cologne and Mini Candle on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lotte Duty Free will also conduct a lucky draw event open even to viewers who do not purchase. Between 8 pm and midnight on the LDF LIVE broadcast, one lucky customer who has completed a new online or offline registration membership or restarted a lapsed one will be selected by lot to win a Fred necklace worth some KRW6 million (US$4,760).
In addition, a real-time quiz will be held during the broadcast with the five winners each receiving Jo Malone London gifts.
