Lotte Duty Free snaps up Grand Prix award for social media excellence at 2020 A.N.D. Awards

SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free’s YouTube channel, LDF TV, has been awarded the Grand Prix award in the social media (brand) category in the digital advertisement & campaign category at the 2020 A.N.D Awards held on 20 January.

The awards, now in their 14th year, are the country’s largest digital marketing recognition platform. They are hosted by the Korea Digital Enterprises Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Korea Broadcast Advertising Promotion Corporation, and Korea Internet & Security Agency.

The final winners in 64 fields, including digital media & services and digital advertisements & campaigns, are selected after judging by sector and external experts and industry CEOs.

LDF TV has 720,000 subscribers, the highest level of any Korean travel retailer. As a popular platform for global brand campaigns, LDF TV scored highly for enhancing customer intimacy through collaboration with influencers, and for channel branding that features relevant, timely content.

‘Pony RED ROOM LIVE’, presented by the hugely popular beauty products YouTuber Pony and which generated 790,000 video views, was praised as a stellar example of live commerce.

The company also won plaudits for its annual Lotte Duty Free Family Concert, held online in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The concert, a campaign unique to Lotte Duty Free, drew 2.2 million views across six countries. It also attracted 900,000 new Lotte Internet Duty Free and a +24% rise in YouTube subscribers.

The ‘We Want a Duty-Free Life’ brand campaign with supergroup BTS (who also serve as Lotte Duty Free faces) received 26 million views per month,  while featuring a powerful message to support those suffering from COVID-19 and to help them look forward to a better life.

LDF TV also features a wide range of content, including entertainment, beauty, and material related to small and medium brands.
