L’Oréal Group appoints Myriam Cohen-Welgryn as President of Active Cosmetics Division

Myriam Cohen-Welgryn succeeds Brigitte Liberman, who led the Active Cosmetics Division for 15 years

L’Oréal group has appointed Myriam Cohen-Welgryn as President of its Active Cosmetics Division and as a member of the Executive Committee.

She will report to L’Oréal Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer Nicolas Heronimus and succeeds Brigitte Liberman, who led the Active Cosmetics Division for 15 years.

Cohen-Welgryn will work alongside Liberman to progressively take over the role until the end of 2020 when her appointment comes into full effect.

Myriam Cohen-Welgryn has led a successful career in fast-moving consumer goods. She joined Procter & Gamble as Brand Manager in 1989, before joining PepsiCo in 1996. She then joined Danone Group, where she led several global brands and operational markets and became Environmental Vice President, Nature General Manager in 2009. In this role, she led Danone Group’s environmental transformation, by putting sustainability at the core of its business strategy.

Afterwards, she joined Mars as President of Mars Petcare and Food (France) in 2012 and was most recently Mars Pet Nutrition Europe Regional President.

Cohen-Welgryn has extensive experience in brand development, portfolio management and operational business unit management at both a country and regional level. She also has a strong track record of accelerating growth and profitability, while simultaneously fostering the positive development of women in business; she is currently a member of Lead’s Board of Directors. Lead is a female-driven network for the promotion of women in the workplace. Cohen-Welgryn is also a published author, specialising in team engagement and business diversity.
