London Heathrow Airport posts record August for passenger traffic

UK. London Heathrow Airport handled 7.5 million passengers in August, a +2% rise year-on-year and a new record for the month. It was the second busiest month for traffic in the airport’s history.

By region, the growth was led by the Middle East, with traffic climbing by a robust +7.1%. UK destinations posted +6.3% passenger growth on the back of recently launched Flybe flights to Scotland. Traffic to and from the largest regional market, Europe, grew by +2.1%.

Heathrow’s traffic performance in August and year to date

In the first eight months, passenger traffic climbed by +3.2% to 52.1 million. On a rolling 12-month basis, traffic was up by +2.6% to 77.3 million.
