Loch Lomond Group makes debut with China Duty Free Group

Loch Lomond Group (LLG) has extended its footprint in Asian travel retail with its first listing with China Duty Free Group (CDFG).

Selected single malt expressions from the Loch Lomond Whisky and Glen Scotia brands are available through CDFG-led Sunrise Duty Free in Shanghai Pudong and Beijing Capital International airports. LLG noted that an estimated 95 million passengers travel through Beijing International every year, with 70 million travelling through Shanghai Pudong.

A first in Chinese travel retail. Loch Lomond Group brands make their debut on the China Duty Free Group shelves.

The single malts listed by CDFG include:

  • Loch Lomond Original, 1-litre
  • Loch Lomond 12yo, 1-litre
  • Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Madeira, 1-litre
  • Glen Scotia Campbeltown 1832, 1-litre
  • Glen Scotia 16yo, 1-ltire
  • Glen Scotia Victoriana, 70cl

The new listings follow LLG’s entry into the domestic market in China in 2017. LLG said it plans to strengthen its presence in the region, adding that its collaboration with CDFG will support the development of the single malt whisky market in China.

LLG North Asia Regional Director Cathy Wu has been training CDFG staff to support the launch.

LLG made his global travel retail debut at the World Duty Free store at Glasgow Airport in 2017. Its products have since rolled out across Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and Asia. As the official Spirit of The Open, Loch Lomond Whiskies will introduce a series of golf-inspired limited-edition expressions this year.

Loch Lomond Group Global Travel Retail Managing Director André De Almeida said: “We are very pleased with the success of our global travel retail collections. Since launching just two years ago, we have reached thousands of customers worldwide. China was the next logical step in our expansion.

“Working in partnership with CDFG and our Asian GTR distributors, MG Cellars, we have been able to bring a taste of Scotland to China’s main international airports.”
