PORTUGAL. ANA-Aeroportos de Portugal and Areas have officially unveiled the renovated Portfolio boutique at Lisbon Airport.

First opened in 2012, the store is the flagship of the Portfolio – Made of Portugal concept. Portfolio is a destination merchandise store with a difference, offering upscale locally-made items and aiming to engage consumers with a powerful Sense of Place.

On 17 December, Areas and ANA Aeroportos came together to celebrate the re-opening of joint venture Portfolio – Made of Portugal.

The Lisbon Airport location was the brand’s first. Stores at airports in Madeira, Porto and Faro have followed.

Portfolio Lisbon is divided into five ‘worlds’: Culture, Crafts, Design, Fashion and Flavours. Each looks to share with the consumer a different element of Portuguese culture and tradition.

ANA explained that the renovation was intended to bring the store in line with the best of international travel retail, ensuring that Portfolio continues to showcase the finest that Portugal has to offer. It is part of an ongoing programme that aims to create an augmented emotional and sensory experience at every Portfolio store, enhancing the brand’s central concept: Sense of Place.

The Portfolio concept looks to share the culture and creativity of Portugal with visitors to Lisbon Airport.

The new design combines Portuguese tradition with the latest technology, explained ANA.

Additions include a Tasting Area for sampling local premium wines and an Emotions area with interactive elements that stimulate the senses of touch, sight and hearing.

A new Fashion area highlights designs by leading Portuguese designers. The selection will be updated regularly in line with domestic fashion concept stores.

From food to fashion, wine to crafts, the Portfolio product offer brings together the best of Portuguese produce.

The product offering has been extended across all five ‘worlds’ with new products and brands added. As well as retail, the space also features a coffee bar, and will run a programme of entertainment in order to surprise visitors and to further share local art and culture.
