Wine and spirits producer Zamora International has unveiled a special edition packaging for Licor 43 Original, which debuts in travel-retail at Dufry stores for three months before rolling out with other duty free retailers and international domestic markets in 2018.
An international first for the brand, the Made of Spain Art Edition bottle will be available from early October with Dufry. The special edition pays homage to the creativity and craftsmanship of Spanish artists with Licor 43 aiming to establish an iconic series of annual releases celebrating Spanish identity through art. The 2018 edition is inspired by Antonio Gaudi’s famed use of the traditional trencadís mosaic technique, which he applied to some of the most iconic landmarks of Catalonian Modernism, such as Barcelona’s Park Güell.

Encased in the new Catalalonian mosaic-inspired bottle design, Licor 43 is crafted from a mediterranean citrus fruits infused with spices and botanicals. Careful maceration and blending gives it a golden colour and a smooth texture that delivers layered flavours of vanilla, caramel and citrus.
The Made of Spain Art Edition one-litre bottle is priced at at €17.50 ($20.92) and £19.90 in travel-retail, as is Licor 43 Original.
Licor 43 is available in over 70 markets and is the number one Spanish liqueur brand in European duty free, according to IWSR. Licor 43 is now the fastest growing liqueur in the world with around 700,000 cases sold worldwide in 2016 (IWSR August 2017 data).
