Leonidas expands travel retail team to target growth in Europe and Asia

Belgian chocolatier Leonidas has strengthened its travel retail team with two appointments.

The two key markets of Asia and Europe are being supported as part of the company’s internationalisation strategy.

Joanne Chew joined the Leonidas team in mid-July as Travel Retail Manager Asia Pacific to support existing business partners and to accelerate regional growth. Chew is based in Singapore and has experience in trade marketing and account management in travel retail through previous positions at Pernod Ricard and Unilever.

Cybil Dubois was appointed Travel Retail Manager EMEA at the end of 2017 to support Leonidas’ top travel retail market, Europe.

Both executives report to Leonidas Global Travel Retail Manager Nelly Sannwald who joined the company in 2014 to drive growth in the channel.

“We are delighted to welcome Joanne and Cybil to our dynamic international team at Leonidas,” Sannwald said.

“We have achieved impressive growth in the travel retail channel over the last few years and we have exciting plans to consolidate that growth and build on it in the future. At Leonidas, travel retail plays a strategic role in the company’s ambition to increase its global footprint.”

Sannwald noted Leonidas’ mission to ‘spread moments of happiness for all’, a strategy outlined by the brand’s CEO Philippe Selliers.

Leonidas will showcase its travel retail portfolio at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition & Conference (Blue Village D24).
