Legacy Brands and Duty Free Global introduce disruptive Mob33 rum

Legacy Brands has launched an innovative Mob33 Gold Heist, a premium rum which takes inspiration from the underground trade of alcohol during the Prohibition era in the USA.

The verdict is out: Prohibition-inspired Mob33 Gold Heist is headed for travel retail

As reported, Mob33 Gold Heist rum will be featured by Duty Free Global at the upcoming Summit of the Americas – A Virtual Experience (5-9 April).

Gold Heist, which claimed a gold medal at the Spirits Business Rum and Cachaca Masters 2021, is a blend of Caribbean and South American rums, “with a splash of Jamaican funk”. Distilled in a combination of column and pot stills, the rum, according to Legacy Brands, offers a “distinctive, smooth yet playful flavour that is perfect for mixing and creating criminally good cocktails”.

“There is nothing discreet about the branding; in fact, it is designed to make an impact and stand out in any crowd,” the brand added.

Legacy Brands CEO Gary Squire commented: “With the interminable lockdown feeding our rebellious nature, we wanted to approach the rum category with creativity and to challenge the classic approach to making quality rums.

“Building on the traditions of age and origin, we have been able to demonstrate that blending the best of the Caribbean creates a fantastically complex rum. We are committed to making the Mob33 brand a success in the global travel retail sector.”

Squire said the rum targets millennials and “open-minded consumers who want to satisfy their inquisitive nature”.

“Gold Heist will be the first of a number of innovative players under the Mob33 brand that will bring new attitude and credibility to the spirits category,” he added.
