Le Clos expands presence at Dubai International with new T1 arrivals stores

UAE. Fine wine and luxury spirits retailer Le Clos has hailed a major milestone for the company with the opening of two new stores at Dubai International Terminal 1.

The stores extend Le Clos’ footprint to nine outlets at the airport, and are the first to be located in arrivals.

The stores, located in the T1 baggage claim area, offer a selection of over 300 wines and 80 whiskies. Highlights include Le Clos’ curated Five Bottle Selections box set, which includes a group of ‘the world’s most admired wines’ and ‘great wines of Bordeaux’. Both box sets are US$105, priced to allow travellers to take full advantage of their duty free allowance.

“This new arrivals location opens up the opportunity for even more travellers to sample the Le Clos offer first-hand and enjoy the in-store expertise and world-class service from our friendly team of qualified wine and spirits professionals who will be happy to recommend the perfect item for any occasion,” said Maritime & Mercantile International (MMI) – Le Clos brand owner – Chief Operating Officer Iain Delaney.

Le Clos also highlighted its online Click & Collect service as a key part of its ambition to drive increased sales. The service provides travellers with an increased level of convenience and flexibility. Travellers can browsethe Le Clos portfolio of over 1,200 products, purchase at home or inflight, and pick-up goods on arrival at Dubai International from the new stores.

Dubai Airports Commercial Group Executive Vice President Eugene Barry added: “Together with our partners, we’re committed to offering travellers unique experiences, and the highest levels of service, across our airports. The addition of Le Clos’ eighth and ninth airport stores is very much in line with this objective.”

As part of the launch phase, Le Clos will offer a range of promotions and exclusives including ‘two bottles of Billecart Salmon Non Vintage Brut for US$70’ and -20% discount on a selection of Bordeaux wines.

Featured wines in the new stores include: Tronquoy Lalande from Saint Estephe, home to some of Bordeaux’s finest white wines; Italian icons such as Sassicaia and Ornellaia, Brunello di Montalcino and a range of Barolos. Rare and collectible wines from famous estates such as Ornellaia Bianco and a limited-production Sauvignon Blanc will also be available.

Le Clos’ first dedicated whisky outlet features over 80 whiskies. These include whiskies from US$33 and Japanese whiskies from US$35. The retailer has also secured some of the most sought-after bottles, such as The Macallan Fine and Rare 1937 at US$35,000 and a selection from the now closed Karuizawa distillery.
