Latest B+D glasses aim to eliminate harmful blue light

Eyewear specialist B+D will present two new models which aim to reduce the effect of blue light and digital eye strain at next month’s TFWA World Exhibition (A21, Yellow Village).

New Blue Ban Readers and B+D Digital are specially designed glasses which are claimed to reduce the transmittance of blue light emitted by digital devices.

Blue Ban Readers come in light blue/red, blue/dark grey, grey/blue/red/light blue, tortoise/blue and black/grey colour options

According to B+D, nearly one third of adults spend more than half their waking hours using a digital device, with 72.5% of adults unaware of the potential dangers of blue light to eyes.

The Blue Ban model is available in six colour combinations and in five pre-graduated powers: +1.00, +1.50, +2.00, +2.50, and 3.00.

B+D’s Digital glasses are said to protect the eyes by filtering the blue light emitted from digital devices, preventing harmful effects such as eye strain and redness.
