Lagardère Travel Retail wins food & beverage contract at Malaga Airport

SPAIN. Airport authority AENA has awarded Lagardère Travel Retail a contract to operate four food & beverage units at Malaga Airport Terminal 3.

Lagardère said it aims to mix international and local foodservice brands. The company will operate Giraffe World Kitchen, Giraffe Stop, Costa Coffee and La Manon Boulangerie and Bistro.

The contract begins in September 2018.

Malaga mix: Giraffe World Kitchen combines classic dishes with on-trend flavours.

Giraffe World Kitchen aims to offer fresh tasting food and drink in a “relaxed and vibrant” environment. The menu combines “straight-up classics” with “on-trend flavours” and features brunches, burgers, fresh salads, steak & grills together with hand roasted coffee, smoothies and a selection of cocktails, beers and wines.

Giraffe Stop offers travellers the chance to purchase Giraffe dishes on-the-go, including breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, and coffees.

Lagardère Travel Retail will also open its first Costa Coffee store in Spain, continuing a franchise partnership with the brand in the Czech Republic.

Local brand La Manon Boulangerie and Bistro offers quality bakery products, made from pure butter and the finest yeast, Lagardère said. The result is an authentic Spanish experience, according to the company.

“It reinforces our current partnership with AENA, as we already operate Relay and speciality stores – such as Discover – and a wide variety of fashion outlets in Spain. The development of our food & beverage presence represents a significant step in the growth of our activity in Spain.”
