ITALY. Lagardère Travel Retail has opened a new 160sq m space for its own brand Natoo Healthy All the Way in the landside area at Cagliari Airport. In addition to its healthy-eating menu, the store has a retail element.
The eatery is the fifth of its kind to open in Italy after Padova Railway Station, Venice Marco Polo Airport, Roma Termini Railway Station and Rome Fiumicino Airport.
Lagardère Travel Retail said it created the Natoo concept to offer a healthy alternative to pizza, pasta and pastry.
The staple of the food and drink offer is fresh fruit juices and smoothies, and healthy food, while there is also a small range of local memorabilia and a flower shop.
The France-headquartered travel retailer said that Natoo trades the “best of what Sardinia has to offer” including organic and certified products.
The savoury offer includes cheese platters, local wines, as well as original sandwich recipes made from ‘high quality’ Sardinian ingredients.
For sweets, there are local desserts and pastries, and croissants stuffed with typical Sardinian organic jams made from wild blackberries, myrtle, prickly pears, oranges and honey.
With both eat-in and take-out options, Natoo also offers gluten free, lactose free, vegetarian and vegan alternatives.
Lagardère Travel Retail said that Natoo’s complementary retail offer has been tailor-made for Cagliari, with a range of souvenir mugs decorated in Sardinian style. Colourful, fresh flowers are also for sale.
