UK. Lagardère Travel Retail has opened a 45sq m ‘The Watch Collection’ store in Departures at London City Airport.

The Watch Collection, Lagardère Travel Retail’s own-brand premium watch concept, is the third luxury watch and accessories opening for the retailer in the UK and Ireland.

Lagardère Travel Retail described the opening at London City Airport as a “strategic luxury move” for the company

Lagardère Travel Retail said the store at London City Airport features a brand portfolio curated to best suit the airport’s demographic. Brands include: Tag Heuer, Longines, Mont Blanc, Rado, Tissot and Frederique Constant. The Watch Collection also features a service table whereby customers can experience the product before purchasing and specialist sales consultants are on-hand to provide advice.

A free Shop & Collect service is available for purchases made to eligible destinations (domestic and European routes only). Customers can leave their purchases with the sales consultants for free while travelling and the item(s) will be gift-wrapped and ready for collection in Arrivals upon their return.

The curated watches offer targets London City Airport’s business travellers

Lagardère Travel Retail UK & Ireland Managing Director Amaury Dehen said: “We are thrilled to announce this opening at London City Airport. Luxury watches and accessories is a category we are keen to develop in the UK thanks to our strong brand partnerships and specialist The Watch Collection concept. We are confident our brand portfolio and service offering will be very well-received by passengers at London City Airport”.

London City Airport Commercial Concessions Manager Tim Ward said: “As a premium airport close to the centre of London, our passengers are accustomed to the very highest quality of retail options, so The Watch Collection is an apt addition to London City Airport’s retail offer. With business travellers comprising around 54% of our passengers, there is a captive audience for luxury watches and we look forward to working with Lagardère to make The Watch Collection a great success.”
