Lagardère Travel Retail names Nicolas Savary to senior role in Japan

JAPAN. Lagardère Travel Retail has named well-respected senior industry executive Nicolas Savary (pictured) as Vice President Operations for its recently established Japanese business.

Savary spent almost nine year with DFS Group, three of those as Managing Director of the JAL-DFS joint venture, which had stores at Tokyo Narita and Haneda airports. He also spent time in retail management at DFS’ downtown and airport stores in Okinawa.

Lagardère Travel Retail CEO North Asia Eudes Fabre said: “We are delighted to welcome Nicolas to the team to drive Lagardère Travel Retail’s growth in Japan. Nicolas brings a wealth of experience of the Asian travel retail market and his in-depth understanding of Japan’s culture and business environment will be a great asset.

“We recently entered Japan with the opening of ‘Made in Pierre Hermé‘ in Tokyo Station and Fukuoka Airport and we see great potential for further development. Japan is a sophisticated consumer market and an attractive destination for visitors from all over the world. We look forward to contributing to the growth of the Japanese travel retail market by introducing new brands and concepts that appeal to travellers from both Japan and overseas.”
