GERMANY. Lagardère Travel Retail has announced the appointment of Jochen Halfmann as CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail Deutschland GmbH with immediate effect.
Halfmann, who will report directly to Lagardère Travel Retail Regional Chief Operating Officer EMEA Frédéric Chevalier, has been tasked with leading the retailer’s development in Germany. The company currently operates its Relay, Virgin, Hub Convenience and Coffee Fellows brands in the country.
Chevalier said: “We are delighted to have Jochen joining our team in Germany and are looking forward to benefitting from his extensive experience of the retail industry to further grow our business in this market.
“Building on our European market-leading position, Jochen will be focusing on strengthening our existing relationships with landlords as well as further growing our portfolio through new tenders.”
Halfmann was most recently CEO of restaurant chain Vapiano SE. His previous roles include Managing Director for the Douglas Group in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and Global leader for Primera’s retail businesses Biba, Laurel, Cavita and Escada.
