GERMANY. Lagardère Travel Retail Germany introduced Coffee Fellows, the largest coffee chain concept in the country, to Nuremberg Airport on 8 January.
The travel retailer operates 25 branches of the concept at railway stations and airports in Germany.
“We are pleased to announce our new location in the Franconian metropolis,” said Lagardère Travel Retail Chief Executive Officer Germany, Austria and Slovenia, Thomas Wiesel.
Lagardère Travel Retail hails the café as the gastronomic centrepiece of Nuremberg Airport’s newly designed Terminal 1, which opened at the beginning of December 2017. The terminal features a 2,000sq m ‘travel world’ presenting several new commercial offers.
“With Coffee Fellows we have found a partner who offers our guests a relaxing stay in a highly attractive location,” said Nuremberg Airport Manager Dr Michael Hupe.
“The modern coffee house has the right offer for both travellers and visitors to our new travel world and blends perfectly into the gastronomic landscape at the airport. The brand is now very well-established and thus develops additional pulling power for our terminal.”
The concept is styled on typical UK and US coffee shops featuring genuine leather armchairs, limed oak and brushed stainless steel in its design elements. Warm shades of brown create a cosy ambience.
The menu includes freshly brewed coffee, cooked-to-order bagels and wholemeal bread, and muffins and doughnuts. Seasonally changing specials bring variety to the range.
Coffee Fellows is the largest café chain with a British-American model in Germany, with 180 branches. In Europe, it has 200 points of sale.
