Lacoste celebrates the original Crocodile with L’Homme Lacoste fragrance

Coty has created a new Lacoste scent which pays homage to tennis champion and Lacoste Founder René Lacoste. L’Homme Lacoste will be on-counter in travel retail Europe in September before rolling out to the Americas in November.

L’Homme Lacoste is inspired by René Lacoste’s tenacity demonstrated during his tennis matches, which led to his nickname ‘the Crocodile’. The woody spicy scent features top notes of mandarin and sweet orange essence combined with fruit quince and rhubarb. The heart comprises black pepper, ginger, transparent jasmine and almond and the base blends cedar wood with dry amber, musk, vanilla and Akigalawood.

The juice is housed in a tall, rectangular shaped bottle which is inspired by the graphic lines and colour of a tennis court. A silver crocodile in the centre is framed by a silver box.

The L’Homme Lacoste campaign portrays all the elements of Lacoste’s heritage in a contemporary way. The opening scene features an aerial panorama of Paris before the Lacoste man walks onto a rooftop tennis court to challenge a crocodile to a game.
